Startup.Tampere Podcast: Tampere, a Leading City in Drone Innovation

Tampere is currently developing Nokia Arena into a drone testing platform. Nokia Arena, which is one of Finland’s leading event venues for sports, music, and entertainment, will soon also offer unique opportunities for testing and advancing drone innovations.

In this episode, Business Tampere’s Tero Kyckling shares how the idea originated, what it means for the startup ecosystem, and how it aligns with the national drone strategy.

The project will kick off with the Drone Innovation Hackathon, held on January 21–23. The goal is to position Tampere among the world’s top three drone testbeds and to create an environment where startups can test and develop their solutions in a real-world setting.
